The band, guitarist Joe Hottinger, bassist Josh Smith, drummer Arejay Hale and singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale churn out uncompromising rock-n-roll anthems on their self-titled Atlantic debut. Drawing from an arsenal of songs that she's penned since she was 13, Lzzy examines love and life on the edge while casting a hypnotic spell on listeners. Drawing from influences as diverse as Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, and Metallica, she has a dark sensuality that's undeniable. She exudes that feeling on stage and in the studio, because she's not afraid to be herself. She laughs, 'As a kid, when a lot of my friends were into Backstreet Boys, I attached myself to Alice Cooper, Cinderella, and Van Halen. I want to give the audience a ride and connect with them.' In the end, that philosophy will ensure Halestorm's longevity. 'This album has been a long time coming,' says Lzzy. 'There's been a lot of dirty work that went into making it. Creatively, we went to rock n roll college through the experience. It was crazy, raw, down and dirty'. | | | Product Details: | | | Audio CD Release Date:

Halestorm is awesomeSep 01, 2010 Halestorm is an amazingly talented band. Lzzy Hale is an incredible vocalist. Live they come across as more metal then the album. Amazing.
HalestormAug 25, 2010 One of the best cd's of 2009 featuring todays premier female vocalist, Lzzy Hale. There's not a note she can't hit or a song she can't sing. Everyone song is good and there's even a few bonus tracks that should be on this cd. It sounds a little bit produced, but don't worry, she's even better in person or on their live EP (One and Done), if you've ever seen them live you know what I mean.
Good Old Hard RockJul 02, 2010 This is a very good band with a surprising sound for such young members. Lzzy is an excellent vocalist/guitarist. The rest of the band are also very talented. I find it surprising that in this day and age a young band like this actually plays good hard rock like it was meant to be.
I really like the CD and the songs are all good. I'll be listening to it regularly and anxiously awaiting their next album.
I think it's fairly obvious who wrote the lyrics for pretty much every song on the CD. It's like a diary of a young woman's love life. There is nothing wrong with that and the great, hard driving rock music behind the vocals really makes me like this band.
My one suggestion would be for someone besides Lzzy to write some of the songs on the next album and although writing songs about life is what most do, an entire album of songs about problems with your love life is a bit tedious.
Great job for a first album. Let's hear some new and hopefully more versatile stuff the next time around.
Halestorm rocks!
I Get Off on Halestorm!Jun 29, 2010 I fell in love with Halestorm when I first heard "I Get Off" on the radio. I was then lucky enough to see them in concert at a small club and I am happy to say they are just as good live as they are on the cd. They are true musicians who can rock!
