5great portable sound system!Sep 01, 2010
I have bought this a while back and I am very happy with it. The sound quality is great, and it has lots of neat features. I wish there were more ways to control the ipod but its still a great system. It is great for the price!

5THIS THING IS AMAZING!Jul 18, 2010
Everything about it is just spectacular, nothing wrong with the one I ordered.
As far as I know, nothing can compare to the overall satisfaction of this Ghetto Blaster and all it's cool features, BUY IT!

4Old school boxJul 10, 2010
Did not buy the box from here but wanted to leave feedback. I love the oldschool look of the box and like the features it has and the size. Everyone I have shown it to wants one. I really tested it out at a bbq of the 4th of Jul weekend and I am very satisfied. Yes it does not have the bass of a stereo and I can't say that I remember the boxes back in the day having a lot of bass. Could feel a little more sturdy but I think it will survive. There is no place to store the remote that comes with it, so I added velcro and stuck it to the top of the box. Read a rumor that lasonic may be releasing a newer model compatible for the iphone and such. Hope the decide to address the bass, sturdiness and storage area for the remote. If this one goes quits working I will definitely buy another for sure.

4i931 Ghetto BlasterJun 20, 2010
Hi got the Lansonic i931 Ghetto Blaster, Got from else where but am leaving a review here:

On received it opened up the box, and damn this radio is very big better than I thought it would be looks really nice.

Next to test it and put some music onto a 4gb sd card which worked fine. Sounded loud and good until I noticed I only had sound from 1 speaker, I thought this was strange and after checking everything in the manual to find it has to be a fault and as i know a bit about electronics I decided to open it up to see whats wrong. On opening it up I discovered the wires for the right side speakers (Treble and Bass) were not even soldered just hanging in there and making no connection at all anyway I get my soldering iron out and solder the wires in how they should have been and then re tested it and all worked fine after that. Seems they have idoits making these and the solder work inside is of best quality but can be fixed if they havent done it correctly.

Ok after getting it all working correctly sound quality trebles are very good, midrange is good and bass is good for a portable radio best i hav seen so far without subwoofers.

features: SD / FM / AM / IPOD Dock /USB / AUX I hav only tested the SD card slot and the AUX which both work good. Ipod dock seems like u can only use some older ipods as newer ones wont fit i.e. u cant use ipod touch or iphone or even ipod classic as it comes with ipod dock cartridge holders and u can only use 4 types of ipod but u could coonect a newer one with the AUX , I think the SD card Slot is best as doesnt eat as much power and doesnt stick out like a usb stick does.

FM Radio I have tested and works well, the aerial be care with that it is fragile and i bent it but sorted it out, it isnt as strong as most aerials are.

10 D Batteries to Power this thing! 15 volts in total so makes it even loud when running off batteries i see a lot of people see 10 batteries as a downside but it isnt if u look at it the more batteries it takes the louder it would be. They shoud make one that takes even 12 or 14 batteries on a newer model with bigger amp in it.

remote control works nicely and so do all buttons on the radio itself. Overall i give the product 4 out of 5 but the workmen who done the solder i give them 2 out 10 very poor job if someone with no skills to fix this then it would be useless and cost money to return it, lansonic get your act together and do proper checking before sending out to customers.

If you want a like radio i would recommend it, just be prepaired for poor worksman ship inside the radio and u may hav to fix solder joints inside unless lasonic improve on the quality of their worksman ship.

4good for low expectationsJun 14, 2010
Bought this for the retro looks and for use in a garage. I wouldn't recommend buying for it's sound quality (there are much better sounding and smaller ipod docks out there). It does feel and look pretty "cheap" but so did almost every real boombox back in the era of boomboxes. I give it a 4 probably because my expectations were appropriately low. It gives the vintage boombox look and will definitely start conversations, but don't expect great sound and don't rely on it as a primary stereo system.
